Thank you for your interest regarding the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets. The
Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a non-profit, nautically oriented, youth
training and education organization dedicated to developing the
principles of patriotism, good citizenship and self-confidence. We
strive to instill in our young people a sense of duty, discipline and
respect for self and others.
Training is year round, meeting one weekend a month with extra field
trips as opportunities present themselves. These opportunities include
visits to ships, military bases, participating in parades, color guards
and others. We meet aboard the USS Yorktown, Patriots Point located in
Mt. Pleasant, SC.
During the summer, cadets are encouraged to complete a two-week Regional
Training Introduction (boot camp) designed similar to the military boot
camp. Additional training opportunities include shipboard training,
aviation, submarine seminars, Seabees, music, SEAL training, as well as
other options. League Cadets are encouraged to complete a one-week boot
camp.
The age requirements for the Navy League Cadet Program is 11-13 years
old, and the Sea Cadet Program is 13-18 years old. All Cadets must be in
good health and have good academic grades. The cost of the program is
$50.00 for registration or renewal, sent to
Headquarters in Washington D.C., with the completed application and
medical forms as well as a $60.00 unit fee for unit activities and a
$60.00 uniform deposit*. (These two fees can be paid in installments if
so desired) The summer training fees would be additional and based upon
the training and location. If there are any questions, please feel free
to call me or Lewis Hollis. Thank you again for your interest and we hope to see you
soon.
Respectfully,
LT Andrew H. Haueisen, USNSCC
PS: Please contact our administrator for any questions regarding
application completion, fees, or registration.
