Frequently Asked Questions
About Making a Gift to the Annual Programs Fund

How can I make my gift?

Contributions to the Annual Programs Fund may be made by check, credit card, or securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds). Outright gifts can be made easily via an online contribution or electronic funds transfer. Many people also contribute to The Rotary Foundation through their workplace campaigns via payroll deduction. For more details on how to submit a contribution through the mail, visit Making a Gift.

How do I specify what my gift will support?

All contributions made to the Annual Programs Fund are unrestricted and cannot be directed to a specific purpose. However, donors may indicate whether they wish to have their contributions placed into the SHARE program or the World Fund.

Are gifts to the Annual Programs Fund eligible for Paul Harris Fellow Recognition?

Yes. All contributions to the Annual Programs Fund are eligible and count cumulatively toward Paul Harris Fellow, Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and Major Donor recognition. More information on donor recognition is available in the Recognition of Gifts section.

Are my contributions to the Foundation credited to my Rotary club and district?

Yes, all gifts to the Annual Programs Fund are credited to the individual donor and the donor’s Rotary club and district.

Should I continue to use my "TRF ID number" when sending in my gift?

All identification numbers within the Rotary system have been consolidated into one number — your Rotary membership ID number. Please use this number for all future gifts. Membership numbers may be obtained from your club secretary or on a copy of the Club Recognition Summary.

Is The Rotary Foundation eligible to receive corporate matching gifts from my employer?

The Rotary Foundation is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and may be eligible to receive corporate matching gifts from your employer if the Foundation fits into the company’s giving guidelines. Many international companies may match contributions to the Foundation from employees who work in different countries. Your employer’s benefits or human resources department can assist you in determining if your gift can be matched and provide you with the required corporate matching gift forms.

Why don’t you have a toll-free telephone number I can call when I have questions?

With a membership base of 1.2 million Rotarians throughout the world, offering a toll-free calling service would be cost prohibitive. Rotarians in your district are trained to answer many of your questions. Consult your district directory for the names of people you can contact. If you have questions about the Annual Programs Fund, you can send a free e-mail message to our Annual Giving team.
